Jewish tradition says that when the earth was created and handed to human beings, we were directed to care for it for the future generations. As part of Emanuel Synagogue’s commitment to protecting our planet and reducing our carbon footprint, we have installed solar panels on the roof of our newest building. This is one step in our ongoing programme to become a green synagogue. In conjunction with our already established recycling programme and other mindful actions, we are doing what we can to care for our earth and each other.
Prana Energy designed and installed the turn-key 34.2 kWp PV System for Emanuel Synagogue using Longi Solar Panels & SolarEdge inverters. Installation of solar panels has significantly reduced Emanuel Synagogue’s environmental footprint.

Emanuel Synagogue considers the project to be successful. It was able to achieve
both environmental and economic targets set at the beginning of the project. Our
goal was to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the area.
The project was supported by Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick Councils as part of
Solar my Club program and this collaboration was proven to be a success. Emanuel
Synagogue utilised the expertise of the Solar my Club specialists in running solar
feasibility assessment, site visits, tender evaluation and financial modelling.
